Searching my mind for a lost cause
Feeling the beat of a love finally lost
Gabriel must have pushed Cupid out of the way
Doing his job as he saw fit
Killing your emotions towards me
I fell into your trap; fed into your sick joke
Thinking you cared, happy and stupid and full of lust
I walked the river looking for your reflection
Yet only I saw my own
As that once ragin river was unnaturally still
A tale of two cities
Maybe two hearts
Maybe ego on ego as Sigmund would have said
Leaving me delirious with the fever of reality
A sickness…a plague
Coming to grips with your mental state
Forgetting about me as the world forgot Rome
As Black children of today forget about the struggle
Like that of a mountain crumbling to the sea
Pebbles crushed my heart
Slipping below the water
Ripped away by the tide
Words amount to nothing
A screech leading to that finality
A sonic boom and bleeding eardrums
Your action shows your truth
